Sophie and Robert first met in the fall of 2015 as freshmen at Boston University. Sophie, from Sunny San Diego, was experiencing her first winter in snowy Boston. Robert, from New York, needed a date for his fraternity formal away weekend, the two were paired up by mutual friends, sparking the beginning of a relationship that quickly grew.
For three years, they shared countless memories of the city of Boston but graduation came and Robert would move back to New York. Sophie would stay in Boston, a city she grew to love despite its cold weather and its Boston Natives.. . Although the real world came for them, the thought of one another never left. Robert would travel to Boston several times in the summer of 2018, “to see friends” as he told family.
In September 2018, they officially became a couple. The long-distance dating was a difficult process, four hours apart by car, (193 miles from Robert’s office to Sophie’s apartment) but both Robert and Sophie made the trek on weekends to make sure they would be together.
In May 2022, Sophie made the move to the Big Apple, and long distance was no more. Sophie and Robert got an apartment in Chelsea and adjusted to life in New York City. Sophie taught Rob how to cook and the two quickly became the newest master Chef’s of New York.
For Sophie’s birthday, her parents came to New York to celebrate. The day after, on April 27, 2024, (to Sophie’s surprise) Robert proposed at Central Park’s iconic Boathouse, in front of both of their parents.
Now, Robert and Sophie are excited to begin the next chapter of their lives as husband and wife and look forward to celebrating their love with friends and family.
